We currently occupy the second and fourth floors of Broida Hall's North wing. The second floor space is used primarily for chemistry labs, along with the chemists' office space. The fourth floor is primarily the Physicists' lab and office space, and this is where our large laser labs are located. The Institute offices are on this floor also, comprising the Director and staff offices.

At the request of the Physics Dept., 1,336square feet-- over 1/2 the space of the second floor, is, as of March, 1998, on indefinite loan to the Physics Dept., and is no longer available for our use. The former Conference Room on the second floor has been converted to an Instrument Room.

Since the Institute has Principal Investigators in other departments, Institute sponsored research is also carried out in Engineering and Chemistry labs elsewhere on campus. This space report includes only space assigned to the Institute
