Figure 6. We have developed a Ni-chelating nitrilo-triacetic acid group functionalized to react with any hydroxylated group (e.g. silica or oxidized silicon surfaces). This allows for the surface attachment of oligo-histine-tagged proteins, which are easily generate via standard genetic engineering or, as proposed here, automated peptide synthesis technologies.
