WHERE IS "HERE" ?

 

The Center (formerly Institute) for Polymers and Organic Solids (or "CPOS") is an research center under the Dept. of Chemistry on the University of California, on the Santa Barbara campus of the University of California, on the west coast of the United States of America. The following maps will help you locate us.

GETTING HERE BY PLANE:

 

United Airlines is the only "large" aircarrier that services Santa Barbara. There are also several commuter (small) planes that fly into Santa Barbara Airport and connect us to the major cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco.
You can get information on flights either from your travel agent, through the airlines direct web pages, or through the Santa Barbara Airport web page: http://www.flysba.com/ The Santa Barbara Airport web site has links to the airlines web sites as well.


Flying into LAX:

If you decide to fly into LAX, there are several ways to get to Santa Barbara. This page will help.

There is also Train service to Santa Barbara, from most anywhere in the U.S., and Bus companies that come to Santa Barbara. If you are interested in these other transportation options, you can check out:

WHEN YOU GET TO SANTA BARBARA:

If you arrive Monday-Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm, you can call our office at (805) 893-2001, and we will come get you. **Please arrange this beforehand as we don't always drive our cars to work.
If you arrive after 5:00pm, or on the weekend, you can get a cab at the Santa Barbara Airport or call a cab, to take you to your destination for the night. We can make reservations for you at a motel if you wish. For late arrivals, we would need your visa card number, name and expiration date, or you can arrange your own reservations.
